Delores Ann Miller was born on November 4, 1950 in Barnes-Griffin Clinic in Asheboro, NC. She weighed 8lbs and 11 ounces. Her father was John William Miller and her Mother was Aileen Marks Miller. She was their oldest daughter and second child. She was a very good student and was interested in working with people. She had six brothers and sisters but tragically lost her sister, Patricia Lynn Miller when Patricia was only four. She was particularly close to her older brother, Buddy Harris Miller and her sister Cheryl Lynn Miller. Rebecca Gail Miller, Carolyn Elizabeth Miller and Kevin Miller are her other siblings.

In September of 1967, she married Steven Ronald Baker, Sr. The wedding was conducted at the home of Reverend Henry Thompson. On March 8, 1969 Delores McClain Baker "Lorrie" was born in Mather Air Force Case Hospital Sacramento, California six months before Steve Baker went to Vietnam. On October 11, 1971 another daughter, Stephanie was born at Castle Air Force Base Hospital Merced, California. On January 31, 1974 a son, Steven Ronald Baker "Ron" was born in Randolph County hospital in Asheboro, NC. Steve and Delores were married for 24 years.

Mom enjoyed animals, flowers, people and children. She had a keen interest in people and was an astute people observer. She was naturally curious and liked the color orange which looked beautiful on her with her olive complexion. Mom was compassionate, loving, modest and understating. She had a wry sense of humor and loved being with her family.

She had four grandchildren at the time of her death:

Alicia Hope Stewart, Bryan Keith Stewart, Damian Michael Stewart ( in which she was there for his birth and held him first) and Haley Patricia Saylor.

On June 10, 1995 mom married John Hegamyer. They resided in Gloucester, VA until her death in 2005.

Mom died from cancer but her memory lives on in the hearts of those who remember this wonderful human being that God blessed us with.
